The inspiration for this pen was a photo of a paintbrush pen that a friend had seen online. I challenged myself to see if there was a way that I could recreate it or something similar. After some research I couldn’t find any kits or anything like the pen so I sketched a draft and decided to give it a try! Above are photos of my finished product. I turned a walnut wood pen blank, painted the bottom section with enamel paints and completed the pen with a green slimline pen kit. I’m pretty pleased with it, and am looking forward to completing the next one with changes needed to improve the design.
And away they go!
We are excited to be sharing our pens all over the United States. We have sold and sent these handmade pieces of art to clients in Illinois, Indiana, Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Colorado, California, Washington, and of course our home state of North Carolina.
Our Etsy Shop is up and running. We’ve had it since about December 2019. It’s been a fun way to market all of the pens we are handcrafting. One of the most difficult things for me to do is to part with the created pens. I fall in love with each one of the ones I make. But I’m getting better, because really, how many pens should one person have??
So visit our shop, Lathe Life Creations, on ETSY by going to www.etsy.com/shop/lathelifecreations We recently added a ton of pens because a supplier here hasn’t been able to open back up to the capacity and ability as she was , due to COVID-19, so until that day comes around, we will add those pens to our shop. Some of them are very unique and created for the clientele that they were intended. I hope you find on that you may like. We try to stock every week or two, so be sure to keep checking back. Oh and we can do our best to help you with a custom order. Those are fun, and somewhat challenging, but so far any one who requested a custom pen has been fully satisfied.
